Is it possible to make this a private group? I am having to censor too many posts. Is there a way to make it readable but not allow posting?

Since you are an admin in the group, you can set it to be a private group via:

Go into the Group and choose Setup from the left side menu. In Setup, set the Access: option to Private and it will require a password to join the group.

After you have the group set to private, you can purge the spam posters via the Members option in the left side menu by using the Ban option on the members causing you problems.
