I think this is my chance (Read 37 times)

Have been on a quest to break 22 in 5k for sometime. 22:02 11/22 which would have been 22 if not for ice causing us to have to slow down on the last turn. But since then I had ahammy summer 23, slowly recovered, ran 22:27 in the same race a year later.

This weekend I ran 22:12 in a race with 165 feet elevation between mile 0.5-1.7. I feel pretty good about this but wish I would have broken 22. Now I really want to break 21:42 which I think is possible in a flat race, according to some calculators the grade in question would have knocked off 20-30 seconds so???

Theee years ago I was running about  3-4x, 15-20 miles, long run 5-6 miles. Now I've been running 5x, 30-33 miles, long run 12 miles. And now 2 of my runs are speed workouts. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think I would have seen a little more progress. But I really think a flat/comparable 5k would have been under 22.
