Hooray! And pretty pictures too. How do you manage to carry a camera? I always kick myself for not having good pictures to help tell the story, but carrying a camera (and having the presence of mind to stop and click) always seems too hard.

Wow! Makes me almost sorry I left Denver a few years ago (for the south). I wouldn't mind doing that one for my first marathon next Fall. Thanks for the report. Smile

Robert, I have an ultralight Panasonic camera, usually I put it in a ziploc bag (to protect it from sweat, which is not kind to electronics) in a fanny pack. This time, I didn't pack the fanny pack so I kept it in a "hiking"-type case on a nylon belt.
Bill-I can relate. I grew up in Tucson and now live in the South but still love the west. For a first marathon, well, it would be a challenge!

Whoa. Now that is a race report. That was better than CNN.

What a gorgeous course. I've reached two conclusions:

1) I must run that race.

2) I must have your camera. What specific model is it?

JK, it's a Panasonic Lumix, model DMC-DFX01 to be specific but it's an older model and I'm sure it's been upgraded. What I like is the large, bright screen and its wide-angle is wider than most little digicams.
BTW those photos were tweaked in Photoshop to look more like what I was seeing.

Yes, waterproof would be good for that and these cameras are so good nowadays you'll do well with any of them.
