For my high school graduation, I was asked about what sort of thing I might like for a graduation gift. After giving some thought (like 2 seconds), I declared that what I wanted more than anything at that moment was a trip to Lime Rock Park raceway in CT to watch Newman run in his Datsun 240z GTP. Went with my older brother and it was a great day, brings a smile to me just thinking about it now...
formerly known as GravelRd, but I've changed to an earnest, running milk bottle. That little guy looks like he's truckin.

I hope so. His salsas are really excellent, too.

RIP handsome man.

He sure had a good life, though! His last auto race was three years ago, and he was married to Joanne Woodward for 50 years. Plus doing all the cool stuff for charity.

One cool dude for sure. He loved auto racing and on tv yesterday they mentioned that they closed Lime Rock Park Speedway last month just for him so he could get a few laps in before he passed away.

He touched many lives with his charitable work and I'm sure there is a special place in heaven for him.

I'll be running the NYC Marathon for his camp next month. One walk through his Hole in the Wall Gang camp and you realize the man was a saint.
