Pretty light week from me largely thanks to having a cold for much of it, although it was definitely clearing up by the time the weekend rolled around. I did check out the new Parkrun nearby yesterday, and managed to set a new course record, might have to have another crack once I'm 100% again.
Two weeks to go and while I'm very unlikely to hit my biggest mileage year ever, I'm certainly not going to be far off it.
3,000m: 9:07.7 (Nov-21) | 5,000m: 15:39 (Dec-19) | 10,000m: 32:34 (Mar-20)
10km: 33:15 (Sep-19) | HM: 1:09:41 (May-21)* | FM: 2:41:41 (Oct-20)
* Net downhill course
Last race: Runway5 / National 5k Champs, 16:22, National Masters AG Champ!
Up next: Still working on that...

Mark - Awesome job with the course record at the tail end of a cold.
me - Lots of easy running from me. I've also started reading a book called "Strength and conditioning for endurance running by a Richard Blagrove. It's an interesting read so far. It was recommended in a reddit thread about periodization of strength training around the running training, which is something that I'd like to improve.
On the running side, I picked a Hansons training plan that starts around 60 miles and peaks around 80 miles per week that I found on the internets a few years ago and figured now I might have enough endurance to follow it.
I run by time though, so I've just converted each mile in the plan to 8 minutes of running. The plan is 20 weeks, I hope I find myself in shape before that cause 20 weeks is far too long.

Flavio, McMillan's stock plans on his running club website have strength training included. I skipped them and did my own because it was far less than I was doing. Anyway, he broke it down as balance, strength and power. I've been using that sort of periodization when I've done a 12 week or so HM plan. Balance-do a lot of single leg work. Strength, basics. Power, add in plyo.
Mmmm Bop

I’ve said previously that the best running book is https://www.amazon.com/Run-Faster-5K-Marathon-Coach/dp/0767928229
I’ve never followed the training plans at the end of the book, but it’s a great read. 👍
The poster on the other thread who thinks I stir things up has a profile pic wearing a mask running outside. 🤡🤡🤡

You literally just proved her point by making an entirely unnecessary personal attack.
It wasn’t an attack…I just think it’s funny. 🤷♂️

I’ve been doing McMillan plans for a number of years; he specifies runs by time, but I convert it to a distance. How can you run by time anyway? You can only map a route by distance.
And yeah, 20 weeks—ugh. I haven’t done a formal plan >12 weeks in forever.
Dave
You're making fun of someone's appearance. That's definitely a personal attack.
You are hard work. I’m making fun of the fact that she has a mask on. Carry on with your BS.
So... making fun of someone's appearance then?

Come on, Mark, don't feed the troll. He's got nothing else if he doesn't have our attention, poor soul.
Don't hurry - next AG will start 2026
I’m making fun of the profile pic and pointing out how ridiculous it looks, I’m hoping that some of the gullible people might have seen the light now regarding masks. Maybe she looks great without a mask?
Sick and tired long covid guy always appears when I post. 🤦🏻
You said you weren't attacking someone then implied they were gullible. And if you actually meant that last question, you probably should've started with that.
Anyways I've fed this troll enough for now.
Love you too, buddy!
