2.5 years ago I had my cholesterol bloodwork done for the first time...my results were as follows: Overall Cholesterol: 154 HDL: 42 LDL: 91 Triglycerides: 107 My overall is still exactly 154, but now my HDL is 70 and my LDL is 77. My tri is 36. My blood pressure is still holding steady for the last few years at 100/60. Yes, my levels were always healthy, but I think this is proof that running is GOOD! Big grin k

My trend. Note that my total cholesterol was creeping upward for several years, then spiked when I first started running lots of miles, but also started probably eating more. Everything improved substantially this past December after I dropped my weight and calories, increased my miles and reduced my cholesterol intake. Yes. Beer. Of course. Also, I forgot to mention, in the last year, I had dropped my weight as low as 153, but it had crept up during marathon training and all that eating. This morning it was back at 154.5...the right direction.

Heh, I should add that in the last several years my fat intake has been ~50-60% of my diet (pre-running I was a low-carber and still watch my carb intake) and I don't watch cholesterol at all. But I do generally avoid white sugar, white flour, and other high glycemic carbs, processed foods, and transfats. I'm also at the upper end of healthy weight for my height and we just finished the holidays (in which my eating habits were less than stellar--ie too much of everything). I wonder what my #s would be like if I was actually at my goal weight 15-20#s less than my current state...? k

            Why is it sideways?

Trent, is there any aspect of your life that you don't keep statistics on? If so, what percent? Sheesh!
