OK, got a new 100mm stem...about to go see how that works.

Verdict?
Win! Drops feel much better, climbs with my butt off the saddle feel better, steering is less "oh-shit!," descents feel more stable because I can more comfortably be in the drops.
Don't you love bike upgrades? What kind did you get?
Previous stem was a Cannondale C3, new stem is a C2. Not really sure what the difference is. It holds my handlebars onto my bike at an angle and distance that works for me...that's all I care about.
And where is the hub in relation to the bars when in the hoods?

Completely obscured. When in the drops I can see the hub, but not at all while on the hoods.
You've got to care a little bit. Otherwise I would have reccomended this little gem from LOOK.
Ooh, that's interesting. Is that what people talk about when they refer to adjustable stems? That would be handy if a couple of people were riding the same bike, for some reason.
It's probably not what people are talking about. This is a more typical adjustable stem.
What's cool about that look stem is that you can put it on your TT bike and play with, try out, or get in, all sorts of positions. For example:
Ahhh...OK, that makes more sense. Though tri bikes do not. Everyone says they are uncomfortable...I can't imagine wanting to ride an uncomfortable bike.
My neck hurts just looking at that setup.
