Notes

2 hour lipid depletion long run. It was supposed to be really windy again today so we started a little earlier in the morning to try to get ahead of it. Ran upfront and even at a casual pace, the group began to splinter after 2 miles. By the time we were hitting the big climb off of Oxford up Ourey it was down to 5. Aidan, Luke, Chris Derrick and I let Sid go in an effort to honor the pace cap of 6:00. We settled into a good rhythm and rolled along the dirt roads. The conversation was purely on the topic of affordable housing, the real estate market and zoning issues. It was dense enough for me to not know a ton about but since it's basically Chris' job and Aidan is deep in the political sphere of these things it was an interesting conversation. Chris eventually split to use the bathroom about 80' in and Luke, Aidan and I continued up Monarch to go around the Rez. despite the limited carb intake, I didn't start feeling all that bad until about 1:45. By then I was able to push on knowing that I didn't have that much further to go. Chris rejoined us by the boats and we spent the rest of the run around Coot talking college track. Not my normal group of training partners but thoroughly enjoyed the long run with them.
