Notes

10 mile progression run starting at 5:45 and working down to 5:15. I wasn't feeling great on the warm up, my legs were heavy and my body, in general, was tired (probably from roasting alive at the high school cross country meet yesterday). Worked out with Isaac, Sid, and Parker. We took our time for the first couple of miles as he progressed steadily through the first loop. During our trek to S Boulder Rd for the second loop Isaac started to press. He was thinking we were trying to hop down to 5:15 as soon as possible instead of just at the end. I call his move while Parker and Sid kept it more chill. I made sure he knew that once the pace was there, we needed to keep it there. We had some bottle support each loop but as we went for our third loop, another Cherryvale without Gapter, the fluid started to threaten a cramp. I couldn't ease off either since we would need that 5:15 up a long uphill stretch. I sent myself a little bit to keep us on pace from 7 to 8 but the downhill along Cherryvale breathed some life into my tired body and I got back into a halfway-decent rhythm. We overran that mile for sure but I think it was more out of a surplus of momentum than machismo. I wasn't super comfortable once we were sustaining a 5:15 pace but it was a good effort overall.
