Notes

Coming off the hills three days ago and a quality medium long yesterday I was a little skeptical of how well this fartlek would go. Weather was a little rough (what else is new), 80 degrees with a 74 degree dew point. Fartlek went 1-2-3-4-5-5-4-3-2-1 w/ half steady jog. With the warm sticky temp and tired legs I just tried feel out the pace and not go for anything in particular. Ended up right at or around marathon pace. Took the chance to work on strength by going up and over Turkey Mountain for the 5 min sections in the middle. The pace obviously suffered but I was working hard. Felt good about it over all when I was done, the work is piling up quickly but I am keeping my head above water and can feel the strength coming back. Running my recoveries so slow I think is making a huge difference, allowing me to come back and run more quality efforts more frequently.
