Brooks Oshkosh Invite (17)
It was storming all morning and we could not catch a break, the meet got delayed because of lightning and so we spent a lot of time on the bus. it was pouring rain on the warm up and with the wind and cold it felt like shards of glass. i love these conditions tho. the course was flooded but no too muddy, i chose to go without socks to help drainw ater regardless of the cold and for the first mile my plantar fascia was so tight i could hardly bend my foot, but i got out really well and settled into the grove of the race in the front, i gradually started to drop back and met with roger and mitch. we ran most of the race together. the conditions definitely played a factor, the giant puddles were tough and most of the turns were dangerously slick. i ran confidently and with the help of roger i finished really strong hunting down a bunch of kids in the home stretch. i finished 17th and was our 4th man but it was not good enough to beat calvin, they got us by 6 pts which was extraordinarily frustrating. at nationals i will not let that happen again.
