Notes

First interval session at altitude and on paper it seemed super light. 6x800 w400 jog, Half down to 10k pace. During the warm up I tried to get myself ready to suffer but it didn’t seem like it was going to be that bad, even though I felt terrible before we started. Did my drills and a few short strides. Jordan, myself and Will took turns leading in the respective order. The first three weren’t that bad. 2:29.9 (75), 2:27.1 (73), 2:26.7 (74). the 400 jog was plenty to be ready again but once we got to 4 the pace became harder and harder. 2:23.8 (72). I took my second turn leading on the 5th and held a steady rhythm for 700m; the last 100 I could tell things were getting tired/sloppy. 2:22.0 (71). Will led us through the final rep and I started to come detached from the back at 300m. I didn’t panic when we came through in 69, and tried to reel in Jordan as things began to separate more. I pulled even with Jordan into the last turn and we both came up on Will to run 2:18.8. Not the most impressive workout but it was a good introduction to the higher intensity that lay ahead. Still taking baby steps in the acclimation process. (Leg Circuit Week 1, 3x15 push ups)
