6k at Elmhurst. Made it 1.1 miles into the race before it was cancelled due to lightning. It was deff an interesting race though. They didnt really have a gun which led to a crazy start. Just about every team heard the start but us. Blaze was turned talking to us when we took off. NC got out way in front of us. I kinda got hung up around 40th or so. It was so hard to pass in the first 600 meters I was just trying to squeeze through when I could and keep Stephen and Kevin in my sight because Matt got off to a really good start. I passed a lot of people just before the hill, the paved portion after the hill and just before the mile marker. I led kevin, John and Stephen through the mile in 5:03 and Matt and Joey were a few seconds ahead but only 4 or 5 places. By the bridge we clossed the gap back up to the lead pack. This was when the lightning struck and the meet got cancelled. I feel like I just just getting into a groove after a crazy start. I really felt good and was ready to open my stride and pass a group of red just after the 2k. When the race was called the 4 of us had worked our way up into the top 20? Matt and Joey were around 14/15, Dylan was 4th and Blaze was 1st. Even though we got out rough we still looked pretty good just before 2k. Really excited to race a Calvin.
