Notes

8k Debut in the open race at Paul Short; my first big college meet. Somewhat happy with this race, it would have been pretty unreasonable to expect much more, allthough sticking up with Geoffrey for longer and breaking 27 definitely would have been very satisfying. I still executed my race plan fairly well, going out controlled, focusing on my teammates in the middle miles, and kicking hard the last 1200m. While I was able to pass quite a few people with my kick, I definitely think it could have been a lot more nasty, but that's really something that comes with practice. My legs were not feeling spectacular from the gun, which actually makes me happy since I know there's so much room for improvement once I start dropping my mileage. Even though I did 70+ for several straight weeks in the summer, 65-70 in singles is quite a bit, especially factoring in how much different school life is than summer life. Looking forward to Princeton, all I really need to do is key off Geoffrey, Mitchell, Schwartz, Doran, and Louis. Those guys have really developed into solid runners this season and if we can work well together in the next two races everything else will take care of itself.

It was awesome to see Brandon Tyler and Akshay have such great races today.
