With CERUZZI. Back from the dead (1hr away). I'm gonna miss that kid. This run fucking sucked. It was 95% humidity and still in the 80s when we ran at 6:00. Guess that's how you get fit though. Dropped the ball by not running at all yesterday, but it's okay I guess. The goal is to put in 70 next week. I was really looking for 60 this week, but I had 3 days of 0, 5. and 3 and that just isn't okay during the summer. Need to be more cognizant about getting my runs in earlier on Fri/Sat because shit tends to pop up. For sure doubling 3-4 time next week.

Forgot about a story that I read in Marty Liquori's book "Real Running". He was training in Gainsville Florida one summer by himself before a tour to Europe and the heat and humidity was just unbearable (Not saying Baltimore/DC is as bad as FL, but dew points in the mid 70s are oppressive). Anyways Marty wasn't able to hit anywhere near what he was used to in workouts but kept his mileage up even though he felt like shit on every run. He almost thought it wouldn't be worth it to buy a plane ticket to run in Europe, but he did and ended up easily running away from the best runners in the world on the last lap of whatever was the equivalent of a diamond league race back in the day and ran like a 13:17 beating the AR in 1977. I'm obviously not doing great mileage wise right now, but something to put training in humidity into perspective.
