Notes

3x(400,600,400,300) by myself on the track at Oswego East in the afternoon. Weather wasn't too cold but it was pretty windy on the homestretch which was annoying at best. Saw Andrew Holmes, who famously ran workouts indicating 1:53-1:55 800m shape in high school but was unable to run for most of his senior year due to having failed a pottery class. When he returned, he was unable to break 1:59 in the 4x800m, citing mysterious "heart problems". Anyways, he was a funny kid. As for the workout itself, it went about as expected so I can't complain. Did pushups/core afterwords. I feel very aerobically strong right now, but 65-68s don't feel that easy, which is probably to be expected for this time of year. Going a few weeks without working out probably didn't help. Need to place more emphasis on strides/hill sprints/strength training for the next few weeks. A lot of people think base training is all about endurance, and don't get me wrong it is, but building a good base of strength and speed definitely can't be ignored.

On my cooldown, some kids shouted to me that I'm guaranteed to win a marathon one day. Little do they know... #Boston2015
