JV race at Navy. Well, my college debut definitely could have gone better, but it also could have been a lot worse. I have to start out by saying that this was definitely up there as one of the toughest XC courses I have ever ran. Time is pretty much meaningless because of weird distance and new course layout. Bobby told us to get off the line and I was pretty amped as it was so I went out and led the race with THE MAN aka Andrew Carey for the first 1,2 miles or so. We came charging through the mile in around 4:50 or so and I actually felt really good. But things were all downhill from there (not literally). Stuck fairly close to Billy until about 300m to go but Big Bertha took every ounce of my kick away. Honestly this wasn't too bad of a rust buster since the course really doesn't go well with my running style. Since I'm not going to be on the Boston squad, next race is paul short october 4th. Looking forward to making strides over the next three weeks.
