2nd. Went out fast and tried to keep it under control for the first 200m. Went past Lathrop because I wanted a good time and pushing the pace from the front is all I really know. Coming around the 400m coach yelled 56 and I heard Lathrop's coach yell 59 for him. Tried to stay relaxed on the backstretch but I knew he was catching me. Milner screamed out, "1:29...1:30" at the 600m, but I didn't have much left. Lathrop went by me at the top of the homestretch and pulled away for the win. Mad that I lost to him but it was still a big PR, especially when pushing from the front. Can't wait until we put our 4x800m together. State medals here we come.
