34th pl. 3rd man on the team. We took 5th behind Trinity (Ky), Linn-Mar (IA), Batavia, and Uhigh. We beat IL 20 and 22 but got our asses handed to us by Batavia. I got out pretty well in 4:53 for the first mile right between Mike and Mason. I tried to keep Mason close over the 2nd mile but he opened up around a 5 second gap on me. I hit 2 in 10:30 and then started to go to work passing people. Mason came back to me at the top of the last straightaway and it was pretty clear that Turner was coming back as well. With 500 to go coach shouted that I needed to be our second man, but I didn't have enough real estate to catch Mike. My finish was really good up until the line, where I got passed by about 3 guys at the last second without realizing it. Not exactly a title defense, but I ran hard and the course was not fast at all today, especially since temps were over 80.
