T 72: H 29: W 6: A perfectly beautiful day for a run. Probably last of the year. Most running plans suggest 12 to 16 miles for this taper week. I planned to split the difference and run 14; But since my ankle started swelling again, I decided to cut it to 12. I could have run the 14 (after all, I ran further last week when my leg was in worse condition) but I didn't want to push the leg further. I want it to try to heal as much as it can prior to the marathon. I'm sure it will swell that day, but if I can rest it more, maybe I'll be able to push it for the race. I also ran slower than I had to, so as not to injure it further.
