T73; H53; DP52; W6se: I'm quite a bit behind on my long runs. The longest prior run I've done this season is 8 miles, back on June 30. I had been concentrating on swimming, in order to get thru the TRI on July 14. And then went to Karen's house to help her out. I didn't get much running done there--just enough to keep my legs lubed.

I added 3 miles to my last long run to get 11 miles. Next week, I hope to add 3 more, for 14 miles. Then, the next week, I only have to add 2 miles for 16 miles. At that point I'll be caught up.

This run was pretty miserable in that my R knee was very sore right from the start. I was determined to get the run in anyway. I just ran VERY slowly. The knee never really got better throughout the run. I think that during the last few miles, my knee finally got numb from the abuse. My R leg just turned into a peg leg, and I was able to limp along a little faster. But this was the only day I could do it. We have thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow, and showers on Monday. Today was cool, and overcast--perfect running weather. Too bad I couldn't have speeded up a bit.
