I ran in the new Newtons. I felt as tho I was flying. They felt great--until mile 14. By then, the balls of my feet were burning. I tried to tough it out for the last 4 miles, but after 16, I stopped to change into the Hoka Clifton that I brought along, just in case. These shoes felt like clouds, in comparison. But the Newtons just seem faster. It was a good run, except for the last 2 miles. When I stopped to change shoes, my knees stiffened up, so I just sort of limped the last 2 miles. Even with the slow 2 miles, I ran pretty fast (for me).
