Aussie quarters -- 16:46

Really solid, tough workout this evening. Re-learned quickly how much this really is a "threshold workout disguised as an interval workout" -- tough sustained effort, working both speed and endurance. Weather was finally not terrible this evening, a little warm with a strong breeze, but much more comfortable than last few workouts. The quarters themselves weren't quite as fast as I might have hoped (on just the north side of 75 sec rather than south), but I was pleasantly surprised that the recoveries felt very comfortable even while floating at ~6:40 pace. Also found that on the whole, even though the quarters were a hair slower than the last time I did this workout in the leadup to 2022 Alumnis, on the whole I finished the workout 5 seconds faster. So that's something -- and particularly shows the stronger aerobic base, with some room to sharpen speed in the next few weeks.

After the workout, did a long cooldown down to the Cole Ave bike path for mileage. Threw in some strides in the 3rd mile for that quicker speedwork. Left ankle very slightly stiff after all this; will theragun and ice.
