First race in a long time; first 5K since April, 2023 (SIP 5K); staying consistent in the 27:xx range; first mile was a surprising sub-8:00, given the knee injury, but quickly started giving way to slower paces as humidity and fatigue following the first mile started slowing me down; impressed with and proud of myself for showing up, it would have been so easy to have blown this off, what with the injury and overnight rain giving me pause to consider whether I wanted to race or not; but I showed up and earned 2nd AG for my troubles (1st AG was 6:30 ahead of me!)
