Thought I'd learned my lesson from previous races, went out easy enough. Thought I was comfortable at 5 and could hold that pace till the end, but I'd underestimated the hill effect. Kept steady up the first hill (6), but second hill (7) pushed me too far and took a mile or two to recover. Didn't/couldn't go so fast on second lap.
Note for future races : 1) keep HR under 180 at all costs, 2) eat something before the race
