Notes

NW 9-10. Just windy enough to make the backstretches a little more of a challenge. Wow, who knows what I might have run on a still day!

6:05, 6:03, 5:53, 5:54, 5:46, 5:46, 5:35, 5:33.

Yes, that's right. This was a *GOOD* workout today. I felt totally relaxed through 4. 5 and 6 were a little bit of a push, but not bad, and I didn't feel like I was really working hard until those last 2, and this is by a wide margin, I think, my PR for this workout, which I have done probably dozens of times over the last many years in marathon training. After counting calories last week, my weight has not come down where I really want it to be (only down 0.4#), but OTOH, the numbers that really matter, those splits on the track and that fast-finish long run on Sunday, etc., all those numbers are going the right way anyway! It's hard not to feel a little optimistic, but I've certainly had my hopes dashed this year when I was at a similar place with respect to 5k fitness back in August. So, we will keep our hopes low and just keep putting in the work every day until the race gets here.
