First time on the trails this year. They were in amazing condition.
I'd thought I'd recovered from my tough long run the weekend prior & felt remarkably good during the day, but I felt like an absolute slug right out the gate & it never got much better.
I ran into Derrick from the FF group runs shortly after starting - the guy always has a great smile on his face & was stoked about past/future races.
Ran in my old Mizuno Wave Ascends. Boy do they suck. Got a small blister & my feet hurt the whole time. It forced me to immediately buy a new pair the next day. Looking forward to getting back at the trails.
