F yeah.

My longest run, ever.

And a great one at that!

I've been on my bike on all of this route, but wasn't all that familiar with the latter parts - I drove it the night prior to judge certain distances, confirm runability & see about fluid refills / stashing places. All looked well.

I was still a little concerned about fluid & misc carrying capacity, but I jerry rigged two 8oz Amphipod bottles onto the Ultimate Direction hip pack, which worked well & let me carry not only enough liquid, but gels, Honey Stingers, Fruit bars, phone, TP, Endurolytes & the new charger/watch cord.

I stopped for refills at Harmony Market in Colden, some farmer's stand/store just before Genessee & the Boston Market - perfect spacing & no empty bottles. I did stop the watch at these places as I refueled, but didn't diddle.

The route was weighted with hills in the beginning & I took it easy. I felt good throughout & never doubted the run. Even after, I still feel good. My right foot was a little tingly at the beginning, but that seemed to work out. The inner part of my big right toe felt like it was developing it's typical hotspot, but luckily didn't turn into an issue. It looks like I have a little bit of a blister on my left toe pad, but I'm actually not sure.

I took the new USB charger out for the first time, figuring the watch might not last the whole time. It actually chirped low battery at me about 2.5 hours in - that was ridiculous. It was a little hoakey to figure out, but I think I've got it dialed in now - it takes a while to flip to the screen indicating it's charging & has to be disconnected to show stats once it goes to the screen indicating it's charging. It also can't drop to 0 charge - I had to stop & wait for it to regain enough charge to continue on. It was actually comfortable to wear, but blocked out part of the display - I may switch around what's where & see if I can get battery life on the stats screen. In the mist of all this, either the lap button got hit, or the restarts when it was dead caused it to be off.

Other than that, it was actually a pretty straight-forward run. There was a festival going on in Colden. Just outside of Colden, I saw ~30 what appeared to be white doves circling a garage a ton of times & then eventually landing on it. This place had a lot of birds, so they could have been theirs. The girl at the farmer's market was hot & friendly, but it looked like her SO was there as well. The girl at the Boston Market was naive & a bit annoying - she was telling a different customer about her brakes still squeaking after her father worked on them & just hoped all they needed was to be oiled or something.... She said something about how they once had a guy in who'd run all the way from the McKinley mall. I said I'd put that to shame & then she asked how far I was running & I told her. I wish the girl at the farmer's market had asked instead...

Overall, I'm very happy with the run & look forward to the taper.
