Notes
I'd been here once before, but it was many years ago. Some of it was familiar, but I hadn't been in some parts.
The majority is not single track, but there is some & the section near the end of the white trail is was really pretty - very open & on the top of a ridge line. I might even say it's one of the prettiest sections in the area.
The orange trail I started on is not heavily traveled. It's still marked well, but is leaf covered. One section of it had some bad blow down & had me struggling to find the next blaze for a couple minutes. It also had a really steep section of a ~15 foot drop that wasn't easy to descend - even I questioned that some. Aside from that, the rest was plenty runnable.
I missed the turn-off of the white trail on the return to the split & subsequently missed the turn to yellow. I didn't realize this until I hit the other end of yellow & only after doing it's length/hitting white again did I see what happened. I turned it into an out & back though, which was fine, to make up for miles.
On the way back, I hadn't been planning on doing red, but added it in for the heck of it. I didn't realize blue was off of it & that ended up being the only trail I didn't do, but I don't think I missed much.
I'd do it again, but it's not a major destination & the milage is a bit short to justify the trip. The amount of climbing might be worth it for the distance though. There is a killer view of Hair Pin Canyon at the end of white, but otherwise the trails stay away from the cliff edges.
