Ran the Lane NW Classic to open the XC season with a big club group including John, Josh, Jones, Rob, Bailey, etc. Rain cleared just in time for the race and the footing was not too bad. The first half mile was super slow in a big pack. Rob injected some pace, then ran the wrong way at about 300 meters. An interesting start. John broke out of the pack at the mile mark and it strung out. FIrst mile was about 5:15. I settled in with two Lane guys in a secondary chase pack. I managed to increase pace throughout the race and finished with some strength for 4th. Couldn't get one of the Cornish brothers on the track for 3rd. Good opener. Love running at Lane and great to see Josh, Bailey, Rob, Tom and the club.
