Notes
Decent run...
Carbed up the night before, around 6pm with a spaghetti dinner.
Breakfast was a mini-bagel with blueberry cream cheese.
Drank some water and gatorade before.
I didn't push at all in the beginning. Just eased myself into the pace. It felt really cold when I started...around 42 degrees. Decided to do something different and bring gatorade instead of water throughout the run. Took a sip every mile.
Gu'd at mile 7 and 14.
Toward the end of the run, felt relatively decent. Tired physically, but not aerobically. Didn't have any concerns about finishing, but rather, whether I wanted to extend the mileage. When I go to 20, I figured I'd keep going since I still had energy. Decided to go .25, and of course, couldn't stop after that. Kept on going to 21...almost even felt like I could take on a hill.
Also made it a point to not stop as much as I could. No bathroom breaks...no pictures of the lake...and even sped up to try to make a light to cross streets.
Recovery after the run was similar to my other long runs. Just gotta take things easy and ensure I don't push anything.
