I started this one in strongsville and decided to do a point to point run. the plan was to meet becky by the Marina up in lakewood. There is a hill where the marina is on, and figured that would be a good point to simulate what the race would be like at mile 20.

Unfortunately, it was a muggy and hot run again today. It wasn't raining, but the air felt a little thick in the morning. Apparently I wasn't feeling it, because my first 2 miles were pretty slow. It started out cool enough, and as the run went on the mugginess did dissipate...but was unfortunately replaced with heat. It eventually go up to 77 degrees in the last hour.

By the time I got up to the marina, where I had originally planned to run up the hill at 20, I wussed out and made the turn into the marina to meet becky. The heat had completely wiped me and I couldn't fathom going any further than the marina. Of course, 5 minutes later I completely regretted the decision, but by then, my muscles had started tightening up.

Sigh, it was a bit of a disappointing run considering, it was my last 20 leading up to the race. :\ I only hope that tapering will help out, because I couldn't imagine running another 6.2 miles after that. This worries me...

Brought gatorade on the run today...tried to sip every other miles, but caved after a while and started sipping inbetween.

Also brought Gu's...I Gu'd at 7 and 14.

Oh and I think I ate way too late and too much the night before, because had to seek a portapotty by mile 7. sigh...not a great run, but last 20 of training. yay?
