Wee Chi Tah Trail Race
I forgot to bring my charger for the Garmin, and the battery was dead, so I did this race not knowing HR or time. There was a really long line to pick up your race number & chip this moring, so I ended up not having time to warm up. I started out pretty hard to get ahead of as much of the crowd as possible before the woods so I wouldn't be stuck behind slow people. The 5k and 10k started first, so I still had to dodge some of them, though.
I was pretty clueless as to how far along I was. At one point, my legs were aching pretty badly, and i was just telling myself that I'm at 8 or 9 miles so will pretty soon be ready to give one final push and be done... and then I finally saw a mile marker and learned that I was at mile 6. I'm thinking I didn't dial my effort back enough once i hit the woods, because I did slightly at that mile 6 sign and felt better through the rest of the race and was able to reel in several people over the last 2 miles.
