Ice climbing with Rebel and Emma. 1st go was rough, felt good but pumped by the end. 2nd climb was better, smarter climbing and feet.
On my 3rd and final (carrying my pack back out), Rebel gave me the "opportunity" to clean some ice screws. I'd never done this but fairly straightforward. I was near the top, tired but on the last screw, when I left my ax hanging a little too close to the screw, and while I was unscrewing, I hit the ax and it dropped to the ground... After a minute of hanging on 1 ax, we agreed I had to retreat and return to the bottom.
So a 4th climb was in store. I forced it as I tried to climb quickly and got tired. Made it to the top with some poor left-hand swings.
