Mediocre race for me as I could tell I wasn't sharp and not in full control...I had the chance to run with some pretty good competition though. I let the leader get away just shy of the mile mark and couldn't get back the 10-15 seconds he was able to put on me. Raced with 3rd place for awhile before surging and losing him.

Never developed a sidestitch, but breathing was ragged at times and turnover sucked. Core didn't feel as strong as I'd like.

Wish I had this one to do again, but with some better preparation or even a race within the last couple weeks. Was hoping to win this one or lose to someone much better...never easy losing by a small margin.

Steep hill right before mile 2, slowed me but not nearly as much as it would have done earlier this summer...not all that flat of a course, so hopefully thats a good sign for upcoming races.

Using this race as a stepping stone and fairly pleased with the time and effort considering my training over the last month+. Going to try to work on my diet this week in hopes that I'll feel better pre-race and stronger during the race....more or less an experiment.

Good first mile split and felt comfortable, mile 2 introduced a handful of gradual hills along with the steep one, likely the cause of the slow down as I felt as if I had put on a good surge. Last 1.1 was a good split...no big kick but a strong steady drive to the finish.

For next week the mile 2 split must come down a lot and hopefully I can drop a few seconds on the last 1.1 as well...I'd like to start with a similar opening mile, perhaps closer to 5:20.
