Notes

My goal for this meet was to stay with Alekh as long as I could. For the time, I was going for 15:25. I was close to these goals, and the only thing that prevented it was that I felt dehydrated the last half mile, and couldn't get going fast enough. I'm still happy with my performance under the circumstances. And we beat Palatine. My hip felt fine during the race, but right now it really tightened up. The freshman race was an excellent execution of their race plan. The top 5 freshman all had great races. The sophmore team could look to the freshman race as an example of how to run in a pack and have a race happen as you envisioned it. I think the main problem that the sophmores had was that they were disorganized, and weren't running as a pack. Some of them may have had a bad race to the lack of a solid summer base. This can be looked at to see why running during the summer, especially on the off days, is so important. This doesn't apply to all of them though, and Monovich showed how his hard work payed off with a great race. Overall, it was a good day and I'm excited to see how we do at Peoria Woodruff next weekend. My splits for this race were 5:03-5:17-5:17.
