Track Intervals. Will get a good assessment of current 5K fitness to work off for summer training cycle. Jog to track and take two laps to prime with surges/strides on the straights.

Workout is 6 x 600 with 200 jog intervals. Basically miles one, two and three of a 5K. Middle/outside lanes. Run on feel without looking at watch to monitor each split. Avoid "kicking" last 50 meters of each interval to influence times.

Interval Paces = 6:44 / 6:33 / 6:41*...flip directions...6:37 / 6:32 / 6:33. Considerations for weather, solo effort, and no normal pre-race mini-taper. Would say this was pretty encouraging. Not to mention, literally just ran a low- 22 minute 5K while jogging 25% of the time. * - Just like a real 5K race, get first mile under your belt, start thinking too far ahead, and lose focus on task at hand.

Easy jog back to the house for the cool down.
