CNS Track Intervals. Early start to dynamic pre-run stretch. Heavy travel week with work. Sciatic telling me windshield time for the week is nearing max. Right hip is begging for a second cup of coffee to wake up. Easy jog straight to the track with two short, relaxed surges to stretch out the hip flexors. Wade through the construction. Appears permanent bleachers are going in. Judging by size of the concrete slab, school is optimistic about anticipated season ticket sales. Take a few more minutes to hit some drills and strides into and against the wind.

Direct headwinds and tailwinds on straights will be major factor. Being sharp will be more important than being fast to achieve workout purpose. Running in middle lanes and hitting lap button based on track position (over exact distance) to get average paces for each repetition. Extra easy jog intervals. VO2 work and lactic clearance secondary today.

200 @ 6:35 average. Jog 200.

600 @ 6:12 average. Jog 400.

600 @ 6:13 average. Jog 200.

Had doubts that I could match the near perfect execution of second 400, then turned around and owned both 600s. Most difficult challenge was not over striding with tailwind. Something about working in adverse weather that causes a double-down in focus. Get some money workouts out of the deal. About the best 20:00 minutes in recent memory.

Easy jog straight back to the house at 9:17 average pace. Fire up the TM and let the climate change begin.
