Track Day. Once all the "hay-in-the-barn" workouts are in the rearview mirror, it can be difficult to get in the right mindset for workouts like this one. Had to keep reminding myself that today's task is just as vital. Easy jog to the track and take one lap to stride the straights with walk recoveries on the turns.

Instructions for workout is to "start slower and finish faster". First up is 8 x 200 with 200 jogs. Flipping directions again after every second rep. Average 6:59 / 6:56 / 6:49 / 6:43 / 6:48 / 6:32 / 6:31 / 6:35. Tinkered with right turn issues and settled into something that worked. Several swarms of gnats were a distraction, and had to come to a complete stop during one of the jog intervals to dig one out of my eye. Following the last of the 200s, took a 400 recovery jog before finishing with a 1000. Flipped in the middle with a "left around the cone" move. Averaged 6:32.

Easy jog back to the house. A good day.
