Notes

Feeling overwhelmed by technology and gadgets lately (especially my Garmin), I decided that I was just going to go out and run without obsessively looking at my watch today. I really wanted to return to the days of my "natural" running, and just run without worrying about my pace, but doing what "felt" right. I set-up the Garmin to calibrate my foot pod to the GPS and was off. I ran where I felt comfortable, not looking at my watch until just after the 4 mile mark, when I realized it had stopped after the calibration was complete. So, I tried not to let this shake me up, started the watch and kept going. Somewhere around the 5 mile mark, I had to find a tree. I've never had to do that in the middle of a run before, but i guess there's a first time for everything, right? Shortly after that I had some GI issues start creeping up on me (I've had some minor GI stress since the "BP 16," but nothing that affected my runs. They got progressively worse over the next few miles and were so bad the last mile or two that I didn't think I could make it home, but didn't know what else to do, so I gutted it out and ran the last mile as fast as I could in nearly unbearable pain. I really don't know what's going on. i've been prety consistent with my nutrition and haven't added anything new to my diet. My morning routine was identical today as every other long run and race day, but obviously something is not right...
