Notes
Really great race with zero expectations and questionable legs and pace. A few months ago I was excited to join the crew at Pineland and cheer everyone on during race days. Directly after the 100 miler I figured it would be fun to run the 25k and get the legs moving after the slow pace of Peaks.
I tested the legs out on Wednesday for a spirited 6 miles on the road and felt surprisingly good. I figured if I felt that good a three days out that should give me enough time to rest up and have a good race. However the next few days my quads ached and energy levels were low. The run on Friday freaked me out a bit as I only made it a few miles at 11:00 minute pace, and felt horrible. Oh well, I'd already signed up and committed myself to just have fun and be with the team.
