800m ascent - very steep woodland tracks then meadow paths up to Pointe d'Orsieres (1750m) near Manigod (from walk book). Hot weather. Excellent views of the ring of steep limestone mountains that encircle this valley.
Pm: Crepes then saw band Quai d'Orsay in La Clusaz - lightning overhead!
