Hyndburn Mid Lancs. W 2nd in his race and pleased w that - he was running well, behind the boy who beat him at the County Champs last week. Slipped spectacularly on the amazing muddy bank that comes just before the finish, but it was fine.
My race ok. Amazingly muddy in places - some deep clay, some wet sloppy mud. Glovers Wood would be proud of it. It is a very varied course - nice pine needle sections too. Down steep bank to cross stream not in last year's course - very impressive. Sections of grass frozen. Started snowing in the second half of my race, and a few minutes later was proper snow and settling. I went pretty well for the first two thirds, but ran out of fitness and steam after about 30 mins - but generally moving through the field a bit. 48/218. Winner ran 35 minutes ...
We then went on to pick up T from his field events masterclass in Wigan - fortunately just got there before the Wigan match ended ...
