Notes

I wanted to start my run earlier, but I was tired so I slept in till around 7am. I ran at Flatwoods Park, which was the first time running there since I arrived in Tampa. Flatwoods Park is flat, just like every other running route on tampa. My initial plan was to drive out to Clermont about 1.5 hrs away and run the 10 Mile Clay Loop, a well-known rolling hills course. However, it just didn't make sense to spend that much time driving all the way out there, especially with the traffic. I would have likely missed the watching the trials if I drove out there for my long run.

My legs were feeling heavy and tired going into the long run, so they still got in some work. I ran at a comfortable steady easy pace. I ran 6:40-6:50 pace for the first 10 miles and then naturally progressed to 6:30ish pace. The last 3-4 miles were about 6:25 pace, but I didn't force it. It didn't even feel like I picked up the pace.

Overall, it was a good long run and I definitely got in some work on tired legs. Now time to watch the marathon trials.
