Notes
Worried about knee as I warmed up, it was not 100%. Of course, my legs were fresh otherwise from a week of little running. Ran the 1st mile comfortably, the clock said 7:12, feeling good. I knew I could hold that pace for 10 miles. Watch said 14:09 at 2 then I passed 2 guys at 3 and 1 (Pete) stayed with me. We started chatting and decided to work together. Good dude. Has 4-5 sub 3 marathons under his belt. We picked off about 10 guys and a couple girls over the next 5 miles chatting most of the time. We ran about 7:05 most of the way but miles 7, 8 and 9 were sub 7:00. I held on for mile 10 but Pete put the hammer down. A beautiful cool day. PR by a lot. Best race I've run since may 08. According to Pete's garmin, course is .08 long.
