Illinois Wesleyan

As a said earlier this week, this meet got a lot more exciting and competitive when I heard Wash U was coming. We didn't get a great warm up in so I wasn't feeling totally prepared. Had a lot of time to do drills which was nice. I'm glad we got jimmy johns earlier in the day, otherwise I feel like by the time the race rolled around I would have been hungry. I had a lot of fun running with Grace and Emma, we did a nice job of trading off pacing. There was one other IWU girl with us that we kept trying to pass + I didn't want her to separate our group. Because of this there was a lot of bumping and clunking around it seemed like, not as smooth and single file as other races have been. Big shout out to GG for leading our pacing for a little bit and running an awesome time - looking forward to running more 3ks with you.

A 2 second PR is a pretty sweet way to start the season and I'm excited to see what I can do with the rest of my 3ks this season (and maybe even a mile)

It was seriously so good to see Emily today, she is my oldest running friend. Overall wasn't in the greatest head space today, my uncle died yesterday in a snow plow accident and I found out this morning. So my parents couldn't come. But there's something about being in the company of an old friend and good teammates that helped make today a little easier.

I’m sorry for your loss, Anneliese. You ought to be proud of your race, among other things
