I don't remember my exact time but this is pretty stinkin' close.
This is a sweet memory. Waiting, completely unsure of what to expect, for Remley to come out of the woods and around the corner and suddenly he emerges and hands off to me in first place. I had no clue how to pace myself for this leg or how hard to run it. I just knew I was handing off in first. Fell into a rhythm without much trouble. For the first two miles I just heard footsteps maybe 10 meters back. I didn't turn around to see. I was completely focused on moving forward. At ten minutes I tried to put in a little surge, nothing too crazy. Finally, just after 2 miles the guy chasing me put in a surge to catch me. I decided to just run with him until a quarter left when I put in a surge just to make sure I handed off ahead of him.
