Did the full lake loop at Stony with Jen and the Romeo team. She and I were the laxest runners there today, content with hanging a ways behind the group. One of the high school boys turned around early to join us for the last half of our run. It felt weird letting a high school team kick our butts, but at the same time, it was good practicing recovery amid distractions. We practiced discipline and confidence today.
Just because I didn't go 6:40s with high school crowd doesn't mean I won't be in that kind of shape soon, as my training progresses. We averaged exactly 7:20/mi on today's run, and I'm feeling improvements already. :)
