Notes

It cooled off and the temps were in the low 70's during the race but the wind made for a challenging bike. I used the 808 and my disc on the back which given the wind, probably wasn't the best idea but since it was only a sprint it worked out ok.

Overall time: 1:36:19, 3rd female out of 40, 2nd AG out of 8, 21 out of 107 total racing

Swim (500 meters), 10:47, 2:09/100 (8th female, 26 overall)

The 39 and under wave started 3 minutes after the 39 and over wave which made for a lot of congestion about midway through the swim. I had to do a lot of bobbing and weaving to get around people who were floating on their backs. Swim course may have been a tad long as the wind was causing buoys to move pre-race.

T1: 1:47

Bike (20.3 miles) for some reason my bike and T2 times got merged, I did use my Garmin on the bike and according to that my total bike time was 58:29. 20.7 mph (3rd female)

T2: approximately 1 minute

Run (3.1 miles): 24:14 total, 7:49/mile average (5th female)

PE effort 95%+ I had trouble catching my breath between the bike and the run. I was borderline hyperventilating and I'm not sure why and what I can do about it. The same thing happened to me at the Olympic Race in El Reno but I thought it was heat-related there and about 3 miles in it improved. I tried to force myself to take some deep breaths but it didn't help. My legs felt great on the run and if I could have relaxed my breathing, I think I could have run faster. Do you think if I added in some hard bricks to my weekly training this would help?
