Although I predicted a quick recovery, it has not been so (though one could argue I shouldn't have forced all those 9-10 min/mile slogs this last week...). Even after 2 days of 'active rest', running still kinda hurts and kinda sucks.

Longbranch pavement was brutal, but when I hit the trails at Penrose the pain lifted a bunch and running got lovelier. So, instead slogging it out on roads, I did 3 of the ~ 3 mile loop I like, alternating counter clockwise/clockwise. It was slow and joyful and wet,and I for once stayed hydrated due to passing the fountain over and over again! I had no Gu (Chuckanut took the last one), but a Powerbar seemed to do the job.

The trip back on the pavement was nasty again though. Ouch. Got back just before the light rain turned into massive gushing downpour. whew!
